Bathroom mirrors are one item that can never be overlooked when designing a bathroom. No longer only for self-inspection, an entirely different ambiance can be created through the proper selection of the bathroom mirrors. The many varied designs now available to homeowners make it possible to change and improve the character of this often neglected area of their house. Large contemporary designed bathroom mirrors with brushed stainless steel or brass surrounds are what you will find today in most high end luxury hotels and up market apartments. These work well in smaller bathrooms by increasing the reflection of light and a feeling of added space. It is also possible to coordinate with any furniture you might have in the room or just outside it, making the bathroom a continuation of the décor in adjacent areas.
Bathroom mirrors can be either traditional or vintage in style, but can integrate modern features for added luxury. This may include heated elements in the mirror glass to prevent it from fogging up when the shower or bath create a lot of steam a locking medicine cabinet concealed behind the mirror; or a smaller rotating magnified mirror inside the cabinet for shaving. The shape of bathroom mirrors can also vary greatly depending on the style of the room itself. Individual vanity mirrors are the trend now for use with double sink cabinet units. These can be oval, round, square, or rectangular with frames ranging from simple varnished wood, artistic hand carved wood or vintage wrought iron.
